MARCO ORSENIGO, SPRINT AND S&C COACH
Lecture: Resisted Sprint Training
From a Lifelong Passion for Sports to Elite Coaching
My enduring passion for sports and the science behind it has driven me since a young age. This curiosity and desire to excel in coaching led me to pursue a career in the field, particularly in women's artistic gymnastics.
My journey in sports has taken me from numerous athletic venues to academic settings. I began with a sports-oriented scientific high school and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from the University of Milan, where I focused my thesis on strength training in athletic preparation.
Even before completing my degree, my deepening passion for high-level sports and performance optimization led me to several external training programs. Notably, I participated in a course organized by Professor Carlo Buzzichelli and his “ISCI” association. One of the most impactful experiences was at the Olympic Athletics Center in Havana, Cuba, where I had the opportunity to work closely with some of the foremost experts in athletic preparation and track and field.
These experiences paved the way for me to work directly with Vladimir Aceti and his team, contributing to his remarkable performance and securing his place at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics.
Currently, I oversee strength training for several elite athletes, including sprinter Arianna De Masi, Luca Sito (Italian record holder in the 400 meters and medalist at the Rome European Championships with the relay team), and Elena Bellò (Olympian in the 800 meters). Additionally, I work with the entire group of sprinters at Ultra, helping them achieve their peak performance.
In my upcoming presentation, I will focus on resisted sprints ranging from 100 to 400 meters. This topic will explore advanced techniques and strategies to enhance sprint performance and endurance in these crucial distance ranges.
